Only my opinion
I think that being an online student has given me a lot more flexibility in my schedule. I went to a ground school before I moved to Ma and I hated leaving my kids with a baby sitter, driving back and forth to school, getting up and rushing around in the morning and trying to get my assignments finished in one evening. Anyone who has kids or just a lot going on in general would have a hard time focusing on reading or doing homework. I like being able to plan my day out and list which tasks need to be finished now and which can wait. I love being able to spend more time with my husband and little girls. It feels wonderful when they come running into my room every morning and climb up in bed with me. I don't have to tell them I have to leave them. If I feel like staying in pajammas all day it does not matter, no one can see what I am wearing. I do not have to fight with traffic or worry about stopping for gas. It has become such a pleasure to be a student. I think the online environment is the best decision I could have made to further my education and benefit my family at the same time. I do not regret my choice.

Hi Deana, I agree. I love being in a online class. At first I was worried because I thought I wouldn't understand the classes or do it on my own, which most of the time is but we have the time to do it. Having little ones does not help with school and driving so I think you and I made the right choice.

ReplyDeleteHi Deana,
ReplyDeleteI like this blog thing, becauseit feels more like journal of sorts. We can say what we feel and get support from virtual strangers and still develop meaningful relationships. I agree that on-line school is great and I'm glad I'm here. I think the main difference is our individual lives factoring into it. I have worked graveyard shift for about 13 years and school now takes the time from my family, so I try to do what I can at work like I am right now. I am very happy for you and this working out in your favor. Good luck with school far into the future.
Deana, I am so with you on the benefits of being an online student. I have pretty much always been a stay at home mom and love the fact that I can have the best of both worlds, being with my kids and furthering my education. Good luck to you with all your future endeavors :)
